When I first started writing fiction I didn't know what I was doing and so my language ended up being simple and straightforward. Then I began studying the craft of writing and wanted to be a writer and so naturally my sentences became more sophisticated. The more sophisticated my prose were the more confusing my stories became. Telling your story in the simplest way you can will always give your reader an easier road through your story.
